Legal Notice

1: General

· These terms apply to all services provided by Calm Connection Dog Training and are designed to set expectations and keep all parties (trainer, dog and owner) safe. By booking and/or attending a session, you agree to abide by the following.

2: Booking and Payment

· For all services offered, payment is required in full at least 72 hours before that service is due, to ensure that your session is secured.

· Fees are exclusive of out of pocket expenses. Any such expenses will be agreed with you in advance of the charge being incurred.

· Payment is accepted by electronic bank transfer.

· Prices are subject to change and any changes will be advised by email 1 calendar month prior to any changes. Any confirmed bookings will be honoured at the agreed rate at point of purchase.

· Online and remote sessions must be paid in full 72 hours in advance of the first session commencing.

· For block bookings you agree to payment in advance and that sessions will be used within 6 months of purchase.

3: Cancellation and Refunds.

· Cancellations must be made at least 72 hours prior to the booked session, to qualify for a full refund.

· Late cancellations or missed sessions will not be refunded, unless exceptional circumstances apply, to be decided at my discretion.

· I reserve the right to cancel any session (at any time, with immediate effect) if the dog does not respond well to training (where the continuation of the session may constitute a risk to the animal, trainer, owner or member of the public, as deemed by me).

· Sessions may be cut short/cancelled due to illness, emergencies and/or extreme weather conditions, including, but not limited to, snow, ice, torrential rain, thunderstorms and storm conditions, excessive heat and humidity. Any session affected will be rescheduled. Notification of cancellation will be made by phone call, text or whatsapp.

· If we consider continuing a session would not be in yours or your dog’s best interests we reserve the right to cancel or cut short the session.

· If the training venue is deemed inappropriate by us, we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the sessions.

4: Your dog’s health & welfare.

· Your dog must be up to date with routine vaccinations and have an appropriate titre test. We also ask that flea and worm treatment is in place.

· You are required to inform us if your dog is unwell (ie. Vomiting, diarrhoea, coughing) as soon as possible.

·If your dog has any allergies, medical conditions or injuries, please inform us, as this may affect your training.

·If your dog shows any sign of illness and/or injury during a session, I may end the session early and advise you to consult your vet. Any session affected will be rescheduled.

· Every reasonable precaution will be taken to ensure the safety of you and your dog. This includes, but is not limited to, dog injury and/or sickness, allergic reactions, or disturbance during public sessions.

5:  Safety & Responsibility

· You are responsible for your dogs behaviour at all times and owners must supervise their dogs throughout sessions, unless agreed otherwise.

·Safety of all parties is paramount and if at any point your dog is showing signs of aggression, fear, stress or anxiety, we may pause or cut short the session. Any affected session will be rescheduled.

· You are responsible for ensuring your dog is wearing a secure, safe and appropriate harness/collar and lead. Prong, shock, spray collars, slip leads are not allowed (if unsure please ask).

· Retractable leads are discouraged and prior agreement to use would be required in writing.

· We may recommend suitable equipment on request.

· During training sessions, stooge dogs may be used. You will be responsible for staying at a safe distance.

· Your dog may be required to wear a muzzle if appropriate.

· You are responsible for following instructions and any injury caused by lack of control will be your responsibility.

6: Training approach and outcomes.

· All training is based on kind, reward based force free methods (please advise of any allergies prior to start of training course).

· Training requires time and consistency and results are not guaranteed. Success depends on regular practice and as a result you will be provided with a training plan to practice between sessions.

· You will be required to check in regularly with progress of session assigned tasks, via email or messaging service to ensure that you are on track with training and that your dog is receiving the benefit from ongoing training.

7: Venues and home visits.

· If your session is at your home, please make sure that your dog is kept calm, prior to the session starting as this will give your dog the best start to the session.

· You will be required to have a key box for house visits. You will also be required to have a spare key in case, despite reasonable precautions, a key is lost. The safety of the key box is your responsibility.

· For home visits and sessions held at your personal address, you will be required to leave a key in the door or in a pre-agreed known safe place for fire safety.

· Shoes will remain on in the house, but I will put on shoe covers upon request.

· If the session is at a public venue, you will be responsible for your dog’s safety in all areas. Dogs must be kept on lead at all times, before, during and after sessions unless agreed otherwise by me.

· If the session is outdoors, please ensure appropriate clothing is worn and bring water and a bowl for your dog.

8: Liability

· Whilst every effort is made to keep sessions safe, participation is at your own risk.

· I cannot accept responsibility for loss, injury or damage to you, your dog or your property before, during or after a training session.

· We strongly advise that you have the appropriate pet insurance that covers training and behaviour work.

· You accept full responsibility for your dog’s actions before, during and after training sessions.

· You agree to follow all trainer instructions and safety guidelines.

· You releaseCalm Connection Dog Training from any liability arising from your participation in training sessions, including travel to and from the training location.

9: Confidentiality & Media

· Any personal information you share will be kept confidential and only used for the purpose of training and client support.

· I may take photos or short video clips during training sessions for promotional purposes. Please let me know in writing if you do not consent to photos/videos being used publicly.

10: Outcomes & Guarantees

· No ethical trainer can guarantee specific results. Behaviour change depends on many factors, including your dog’s history, health, environment, and the consistency of training.

· I commit to providing the best possible support, tailored to you and your dog, and to adjusting the program as needed to give you the best chance of success.

11: Complants

· If at any point you are unhappy with the service provided, please raise your concerns directly with me in writing. I will always aim to resolve issues fairly and quickly.

Agreement

By booking and attending sessions with Calm Connection Dog Training, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these terms and conditions.
